The LepaknLearn Chess Tournament 2024 was a vibrant celebration of talent and community, held at AEON Mall Alpha Angle. This year, we decided to go big, aiming for 100 participants. Due to overwhelming demand, we ended up welcoming 120 participants, including parents, making it a truly inclusive and family-friendly event.
Our heartfelt thanks go to Coach Khairi, whose confidence and guidance were instrumental in organizing our own chess tournament. A special thank you to YB Zahir Hassan for officiating the closing ceremony and prize giving. Your support and positive encouragement for LepaknLearn’s sports initiatives are greatly appreciated.
Inspired by Nilofer’s brilliant idea, we prepared 20 of our students for four performances across two different sports, showcasing their talents and boosting their confidence. Utilizing the break times between chess rounds, our coaches had just 10-15 minutes for each performance, executing everything like clockwork.
The highlight of the evening session was our students’ performance in front of YB Zahir Hassan, followed by a special photo session with him. It was a moment of pride and joy for everyone involved. We extend our gratitude to the parents for bringing their children to the extra sessions and supporting them during the performances. The kids were absolute champs, rising to the challenge and shining brightly.
As we reflect on this successful event, we can’t help but wonder: should LepaknLearn seek more opportunities like this? We believe the answer is a resounding yes. Here’s to more dreams, more challenges, and more unforgettable experiences.
